  • We were 3 for dinner here a few nights ago. I have been a big fan of Searsucker since discovering it in San Diego a few years ago. I had mentioned at that time that the Pork Belly entree I had would be a contender as a last meal request should I ever be condemned. On this visit, my wife and I and our friend decided to share some small plates and then choose entrees. We had the Tuna Poke which was excellent and served with crunchy tortilla crackers. We also had the grilled Shishito peppers which wonderfully seasoned with soy sauce and not too hot, though with Shishitos you never know when you'll get a real burner! We also had the spicy shrimp ceviche which was served with crispy taro root chips. All three were superb! For the mains both our friend and I had the Pork Butt (The Pork Belly I longed for was not on offer) However, the Butt was tender and perfectly cooked, and was served with some sides that I also really liked but don't recall just now. My wife had the scallops, which is always a fave of hers and these did not disappoint! They shared a slice of lemon cheesecake which they described as "pretty awesome!" All around this is a fantastic place for dinner. The only thing I would say that misses the mark at this location is that it's slightly too bright and they had huge TV's playing Monday night football at top volume, that made it difficult to have a normal conversation. The other Searsucker location was intimate and dim and would be a great date place, this location seems to be more like a sports bar which was incongruent with the food offerings.
