Had a split personality experience-
Service was great, very nice and offered good suggestions.
The space is well lit, kinda funky and with interesting decor.
Taco Tuesdays - 2 for $4.99 was the highlight- combo of tuna and salmon steamed and tossed in spices along with crunchy cabbage and a creamy sirarcha/sour cream dressing is excellent. Would recommend the soft corn tortillas over the hard shells.
Green fuji roll- on paper, it resembles one of my favorite rolls at Umi- this re-incarnation is salmon, avocado and scallions. Unfortunately, all my salmon pieces had silverskin and thus were ridiculously tough inedible. I gave it 30 seconds of effort and ended up poking out all the salmon so at least I could have some avocado & sushi rice. Unfortunately I ordered takeout so I couldn't return to the sushi counter to give my opinion.
Flower roll- tuna on a spicy shrimp and avocado roll with masago on top. This was much more satisfying, the tuna was remarkably deep ruby color, fresh and well cut with no tendinous white lines whatsoever. 8 pieces came with the order and it made up for the disastrous green fuji roll.
I would be willing to give the sushi another chance, especially since one roll was mighty tasty. Not sure what happened with the sushi, however...
