Desert Oasis is a good property - BUT ONLY if you can get in at a fair and reasonable rate. Sheraton changed the way they compute rates, and it was NOT a consumer friendly change. The rooms we used to book went up 150% for same dates year to year. Sheraton considers this a high tier property (despite a distinct lack of opulence and clean but ordinary accommodations) and so pricing went through the roof.
We tried to book into the Desert Oasis a couple times since then, but each time sticker shock sent us running to other accomodations very nearby which are equally nice or better values.
The resort realized some popularity, in LARGE part due to sites like Yelp and Tripadvisor, and Sheraton (it's owners or whoever) took advantage of guest loyalty and favorable reviews (IMO) by jacking up rates. Welcome to big business in America.
Sorry to have to report this, because for a while we really liked and enjoyed our stay. The small condos are comfortable and convenient, with lots of pluses and amenities but it's NOT an upscale property and shouldn't be priced as such.
Pool is nice and the grounds are well maintained. Be careful - depending on the type of stay you have you may or may not get maid service. Parking is pretty bad, so if you go out after dinner you'll likely be parking way in back. The Scottsdale Sports Complex is across the road, great for path walking at night.
