  • Checked out the new location of Big Ben's in Southend on a Friday night, and they had a live reggae singer jamming - nice! The space in intimate, very British in decor, and with the high ceilings, an enjoyable place to meet friends. $4 Boddingtons were the special, and they really poured it nicely (think Guiness at Tyber Creek nice!). Prices were high for shots (4 royal flushes = $36 without tip), but then again this isn't the place you'd normally do shots anyway. Bar tender was nice, but absent and it took a while to get our checks and have her give change. I'd go back, but this won't be my local bar anytime soon.
