This fabulous New York & Company location is located in downtown Phoenix in the Arizona Center. This two story women's store location is the only large retail store in downtown Phoenix and has been for many years. The first floor has a large variety of items of the latest women's fashions and accessories. The second floor is all clearance. Seems to be filled with overstock or non sold items from other locations. Either way there are a ton of bargains upstairs. Matter of fact it is one of the cleanest most organized clearance locations I have ever seen. Many fashionable items to fit women of all shapes and sizes.
Now the down side. It is not the parking which is in a garage. No worries they will validate you but it is the service. This store is never busy. I have yet to ever have to stand in a long line. I have never understood how this store survived since it is not busy? Though mainly due to the service provided by the staff. You don't need much help at this store but you would think you would get a friendly greeting or at least someone to check on you. My most recent experience was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in retail history. I have never received such rude service from a manager in any retail, service role or any form of business. I found a wonderful pair of ankle pants that fit me perfectly. They were located on the 2nd floor in the clearance area on a rack that states $19.99. See the picture. The color I chose was a dark neutral color. When I got to the registered I the manager Adriana (spelling) told me they were not on sale the lighter ones where on sale. I needed to pay full price of $35.00. Now I understand if the sign said that however as seen in the picture there is many pants the same color I chose on the rack that says $19.99. I don't work there so I did not put them there. She did not honor the price. I am not upset that she did not honor it which I think she should have however, she was extremely rude and nasty. This is a woman who takes her job so seriously you would think that I was robbing here. She wanted to argue with me instead of listen. No smile, only a smirk and rolling of the eyes. I went upstairs to take a picture to prove to her that there are other pants the same color as mine on the rack. She ignored me so I left them there and purchased another item. No thank you for the business or shopping at the store. Instead she grabbed her little walkie talkie to call another associate asking her to pull them from the rack right in front of me.
Based on my experience. I will never shop at this location and make sure all my friends in Phoenix avoid this store. It is too bad because this store has some really great finds but no one deserves to be mistreated.
