  • My partner and I had some business in the area to take care of, so we decided to go to Cleo mainly because he'd been there before with a friend, and they really enjoyed their experience. We were seated in a booth, upon request, immediately by a curt but professional hostess. She didn't remove the extra place settings, and it was kind of awkward sitting at the table with three extra settings, but that's the old server in me. The server assistant came by with water and removed the extra settings then. The decor wasn't my favorite. I'm not sure how the fake books across the walls are supposed to make the place feel Mediterranean. There is a strange disconnect from the bar to the restaurant, although they are in the same room. But I was always told to not judge a book by its cover. The server arrived quickly enough, but didn't take time to really suggest much until we promoted him to. Even then, he didn't give much explanation. He told us he would give us a bit of time to choose. He wasn't kidding. When he finally returned, I went with my gut and ordered the lamb sliders and the potato latkes. The server assistant was the star, though. He checked on us after he delivered the food, not the server. He made sure we had everything we needed. I believe he said his name is Horacio. Great customer service skills. I definitely enjoyed my sliders. The lamb was cooked well, and he feta was just enough to compliment without overpowering the dish. I enjoyed the sesame slider buns, too. Great texture with the meat and the greens and veggies. The latkes were great, as well. Next time, I will ask for the tatziki on the side, because it was definitely overpowering. We had finished long before our server dropped the check. He seemed like he was in the weeds, and didn't have time to check on us for quite awhile after taking our order. We asked for the check, then he returned empty handed several minutes later, blaming the server assistant - whom we well know has no access to the server's checks on any point of sale system - and returned yet again, this time with the check. On he plus side, it has taken me a bit of time to review this place, but the management staff has already reached out to my partner and has invited us back to make up for the experience. I will definitely have to update my review then.
