I am still shocked by my first visit to this store. When I dropped off two sets of gear for service they estimated $250 per set to replace all the kits and to service the equipment. That would've made it the most expensive service I have ever had, but I was already there so I left my gear with them.
When I got there to pick up my equipment they tried to charge me $850. $350 more than their original estimate. The only unexpected part they replaced was a hose they wanted $75 for. When I challenged the bill, they talked about not knowing what it was going to take until they tore into the equipment but the only part that was unusual was a hose. Everything else was normal service. Except the price of course, which was 50% more than the original estimate.
Needless to say it was pretty obvious th I was upset and they finally "worked it down for me" by taking hundred dollars off. Of course that still left them almost $200 over there original estimate. Do not bring your gear here for service unless you want to get ripped off. Unbelievably disappointed and shocked by the way my equipment was handled and the way they took advantage of me as a new customer.
Update to my experience... When we got the gear home there was a note stuck to my wife's computer saying they thought the computer was defective because the battery that they put in was only half life. We took it to another Dave store got the battery replaced and everything is fine. I guess if you're going to charge somebody 50% more than the service is worth you might as well only do half of the job too.
