It makes me sad when Calgarians don't recognize the gift they have in a classic establishment like Chicken on the Way.
Being a "transplant" to this city myself, I remain impressed by Chicken on the Way's classic fried fare.
The chicken is juicy and moist, while the skin is pleasantly crispy and flavourful. The fries are decent and the Corn Fritters are absolutely to die for.
No joke.
If I was thinking about my "last request" meal options, I would strongly consider a side of fritters.
As tried and true Calgary institutions go, forget Peter's ... Chicken on the Way is the real deal and they got the track record to prove it. Over 50 years in the running, you can't go wrong.
