We stopped in briefly for a gas-up on our way out of town Sunday morning. As we usually do, hubby and I split duties - he gets the gas, I get the snacks/drinks for the road.
When I walked in, the place was marginally busy so I helped myself to some fountain soda and set about putting together hubby's much-needed coffee. In the background of my hearing, I kept catching a very pleasant and upbeat sing-songy voice but then I heard it behind me as this individual excused herself very politely to get by me for some additional coffee supplies in the cabinets.
As I stood in line to get rung up, I realized the same person who I'd encountered before was the cashier. She was sooo cheery and polite to everyone, I couldn't help but admire her attitude. She was nice to everyone and you can tell it was infectious.
The place was relatively clean so there wasn't much to dislike about this stop - just the guy who knew we were waiting but still sat in his car for five minutes after getting done.
