| - If you love lookouts, towers, observation decks, etc., you may want to hit this one. I like those things, so I knew before first visit to Vegas in 2009 that I wanted to go to the top of this tower.
I'm glad I did it, but I doubt I'll go up again.
It is much higher and a little far away from the cluster of casinos. The surrounding desert and mountains dominate the views. The casinos may gain a little respect at night with all the lights, but again, they are almost far enough away that they don't contribute much to the views.
I do like the fact that the deck is open air--good 'n windy! The views are not 360 degrees as some of the amusement rides occupy some of the space. My partner wanted to hop on some of the rides, but, though I love amusement rides greatly, I "chickened out" on these rides because they hang over the edge of the tower--yikes!
This is still something worth visiting once, but know that if you like these sort of towers, even though this may be taller, it won't be as good as others you've probably already experienced.
