| - I probably came here with my expectations set too high.
I had the chance to see War Horse a couple of years ago and this was amazing. And I'm a huge circus fan. From my childhood back in France to today in Vegas. I've seen a lot of different styles and sizes of circus shows: traditional, with Cirque Gruss and Cirque Pinder, modern with 7 Fingers of the Hand and Cirque du Soleil, extreme with Cirque Eloize and Absinthe... amongst others.
So I was pretty excited when I heard a new show was coming to town, called Circus 1903. What a deal!
Unfortunately, their promise is far from being kept. The acts are too long. The (recorded) music is boring and repetitive. The MC is absolutely not convincing, trying to be John Cleese without success.
The decor and lighting are really nice, from beginning to end. The elephant puppets are awesome. But same thing, the story runs in circles and doesn't serve the acts at all.
The performers are really good, especially the juggler and the two brothers doing the spinning act. But again, their talent is not highlighted.
Audience participation with kids is appreciated, yet it could have been way better.
Sorry guys, I didn't buy it at all... I would have loved to so hard though.
