We were a little offput bu the reviews, but it was close and we were starving. The inside is like a 90s style diner. Probably could use a bit of an update.
The menu is pretty large. Our waitress warned us that if we picked anything, we would probably want to share it. Thank god she told us pr we would have been overwhelmed.
We ordered the chicken fried steak plate. Dang, was it good. It allegedly had sausage gravy, but it tastes like bacon gravy to me. It came with rustic style mashed potatoes (meaning not whipped) that were DELISH.
I do have some gripes which aren't much. The CFS plate comes with green beans, but uou only get like 6-7 green beans. 3 cups of mashed potatoes but only a handful of green beans? And the biscuit. It was so.dry. Painfull dry. Even dousing it in the jelly it was like sand.
Even with the gripes I have to give it 5 stars because of how good it was. My husband honestly wanted to go back the next day and said it was at the top of his CFS list. We are from Texas, so believe me, we know chicken fried steak.
