I bought a beautiful french mastiff puppy from this store. They got a little bit weird when I asked for the breeder info after the sale. I thought that the beautiful scrap book of the breeder they showed me was the real breeder until I looked at her records. I asked the home office for breeder info and it never got to me. My puppy had a massive heart attack one morning and it was a terrible ordeal to go through as the whole family including kids watched helplessly as I tried to do CPR. She had a congenital heart defect. The store did make good on their warranty after the autopsy. I got another puppy. I didn't feel like I was ready after her trauma but didn't want to lose my money and they wanted me to pick out another. No refunds under any circumstances. They had a beautiful male collie at the AZ Mills store so I brought him home. Researched the breeder and almost got sick. There are YouTube and PETA videos of this breeder and he has been fined (one time 40k) for animal neglect and horrible conditions. In one report he had a male schnauzer with a compound fracture of the leg and the bone sticking out laying in a cage with no medical treatment for they said well over two weeks. My puppy has now incurred many medical bills as he has a bad immune system and a horrible skin disease. All of the puppies have parasites which is normal but they have severe cases. Both of my puppies had bad parasite issues. He needs a skin biopsy now as we are thinking it is a horrible disease called dermatomyositis. (4 months now of horrible skin issues)The first insurance co that comes with the warranty is pretty good, they are in Colorado but after two months you have to deal with the store for coverage. Not sure what will happen now. Also for the warranty to be valid you can only feed your dog their brand of food. It is a decent food but not worth the price. For the same price you can get ultra premium human grade dog food. Also my vet wants him off of that food to see if there is a sensitivity there as well so I'm not sure what to do about that. The young people at the stores seem to really love the puppies but the problem comes from the top. They are buying puppies from known puppy mills as well as decent breeders and are not truthful about it. For me two puppies and two bad outcomes. A big lesson for me. Now I understand why the state legislators are trying to shut this operation down. Heart break :-(
Also buyer beware!!! I did not know this before. A lot of symptoms of puppy mill puppies are not apparent to people when they are so young. As they grow these problems start to surface such as immune and heart issues etc. Yes people should know better than to buy puppies from a store but it's that old heart string thing and with the money they charge which is about 200% more than the dogs should cost from a good breeder, you expect more.
