  • After reading the reviews of Glory Hole Donuts, I felt like giving them a go. I'm not exactly a donut fan...but on a weekly basis I pretty much would chop my arm off to satisfy my craving for something squishy and delicious, so why not have a decadently designed donut? It was 3pm in the afternoon and I was in the 'hood, so there I went. First off, the guy behind the counter could not have been more pleasant and helpful. He asked where I'd heard of the shop and what made me come in and offered to answer any questions I might have about their donuts. Of course I asked him about most of them, at least the ones with flavours that weren't so straightforward for my imagination to grasp in dessert form. (Elvis, Butter and Toast, Beer, for example). I decided on the Beer...sounded very intriguing with beer buttercream frosting and peanuts, and he happily put it in a takeaway container for me. I ate the whole donut in one sitting, which was a bit of a challenge as it was a decent size (maybe the size of 2 Timmy Ho's donuts ) and with all the peanuts, was pretty filling. I wish the whole donut were dipped in the frosting, so yummy. Overall the donut was fresh, squishy and very delicious. I wouldn't eat these on a regular basis, because they are on the expensive side ($3.68 with tax, though they vary in price). But then again, the gourmet cupcakes that are all the rage are comparable in price...so if you're looking to satisfy your need for something sweet, and not just looking for your average mass-produced donut, I'd recommend Glory Hole donuts for something different.
