We went to two rooms at Escape Code today. One we were able to get out of and the other not which was a bummer.
Pros: they carry out the themes of the room(s) very well. I also like that there are multiple rooms, that's kind of fun. They also are not easy clues which is a pro but also leads to one of my cons.
Cons: my boyfriend and I were disappointed with this place because some of the clue answers weren't precise enough so we had to try several variations of letters and codes to open up the locks. At other places, the clues are still hard but once you figure out the clue the answer is straightforward and precise. It'd be like doing a cross word puzzle and finding several different possibilities for an answer. In a 60 minute time frame, that's not helpful.
We also noticed (as did other individuals in the room with us) that there wasn't sufficient lighting. It was very dark so it was hard to read clues and very difficult to see the numbers/letters on the locks. Even One flashlight or extra lamp would have been helpful.
I think the service itself was good although my boyfriend would say they were understaffed so the poor girl working there was togging between helping rooms trying to give everyone clues (when asked) through a mic system.
We've been to several escape rooms at this point so this place gets a solid 3 in my opinion. We wouldn't come back here if our stay was longer but we had a good time regardless.
