Well, it all started with Sarah H's beautiful eye makeup. She went to Dolce before her wedding and they gave her an eye makeup lesson. Well I wanted beautiful eye makeup too so when they offered a groupon, a friend and I jumped on it.
I made our appointments, which for some inexplicable reason took a good 20 minutes. I explained to the receptionist (or appointment setter) that we had the $80 groupon and wanted the eye makeup lesson. We show up on the day of our appointment and they have us both in as full makeup, not just eye makeup. No big deal, we cleared it up and they just did eye makeup instead. It came out beautiful and we ended up liking some of the products and decided to get a few extras. To the girl that did my makeup, she gets five stars. It's beautiful and she listened to exactly what I wanted. Eventually we go up to pay and find that the groupon is for services only, not products (should have read the fine print) but our services were for far less than the $80 groupon value and the remainder is going to waste! Why didn't anyone tell us this earlier? I made it clear when I set the appointments that we were using the $80 groupon. The majority of my groupon was completely wasted! In fact, it would have cost me less to have not used the groupon at all. I asked the lady ringing me up if there's anything we can do with the balance and she said the only thing was an eyebrow wax which I didn't need. Now at home looking at the website for services, there were plenty of other things I could have used it on.
While my eye makeup is beautiful, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I feel like I was taken for a ride and advantage of. I can understand why Dolce doesn't have many good reviews.
