  • I have always loved the President's weekend as it is officially the planting weekend for Vegas. it is a time to go to Star and see like minded individuals buying vegetables and herbs just like you. I love this nursery as the quality and variety of all their plants are above average. Their plants are more hearty and I love the fact that there are three size offerings for the vegetable plants. If you are impatient you can pay a little over ten dollars and get a blossoming tomato plant or stick the with two dollar small fry and let it grow. One of the other things I love about this nursery is the two weeks or so that they carry lady bugs. Lady bugs eat small mites off of your plants like vegetables and roses. You can buy a container of them, take them home, then let me loose on your plants. It is a great family activity as my kids always loved it when they were younger. Star has very knowledgeable staff that is circulating the nursery and eager to help the lost or confused gardener. Their Koi and turtle pond is very cute to look at as well as grab some water plants for your own pond. There is definitely something for everyone here.
