So here we go....my step son comes home from doing a 9 moth tour in Baghdad...he had been speaking to Anthony about a certain Certified Toyota for a couple of days. He was assured it was there and that morning solidified the plan to drive up to Concord because he really liked it. As we drive I'm telling him the things to look out for, the car suddenly not in stock, the price varies from the web price, pushing you into a new car and so on, but he feels pretty confident this guy has been treating him right. To paint the picture: he had a 48 hour travel time and planes were delayed and he was sitting in a hanger when not stuck on a plane for 2 days. Had to get picked up 3 hours away and arrived very early this same morning. After a few hours sleep he gets up and we go...45 min drive and of course it was the tail end of Harvey coming through. We go and finally get there and Anthony gives us the weakest of handshakes, said to me how he remembers talking to me (never had he ever) and while walking is to another car - tells us how the car that he was looking at, all of a sudden miraculously was sold at 9:30 the night before...and brings us to a more expensive with a ton more miles car. After a lot of wheels spinning and offering new car deals and blowing smoke...I asked him if the car was sold the night prior why couldn't he tell us that with all the email correspondence - and saved some time for my Son... and he says to HIM that if he would have made his plane he could have had the car. Who says that to a military man who is giving up his time to protect this jerk? The fiasco only lasted 5 minutes and I was super proud of my son to keep his cool because once we got in the car he was very upset as was I. Please, do not go here.
Anthony represents the "used car salesman" roll perfectly. A shyster, a scam and makes people feel bad. Way to go.
