Tucked away at the end of a strip mall that features bubble tea and an exotic massage parlor, Shibuya serves up Calgary's finest Japanese dining. I have been here about five times, and each time the meal is delicious. Their sushi is very fresh, the octopus croquet balls are to die for (the difference I have noticed has to do with the bonito flakes on top: they add another dimension to the meal), and the ramen is rich and tasty. Their special rolls are also great, in particular the Kiwi Paradise; the sweet kiwi contrasts perfectly with the fish, and made for a satisfying quasi-dessert at the end of the meal.
Unless you have a very refined palette, I would recommend you stay away from the nato rolls; we very nearly made the mistake of ordering a hand roll, which would certainly have resulted in instant death. The taste it left in our mouths nearly obliterated the entire preceding meal.
The restaurant is fairly accessible, and though the parking can get tricky, there is a huge lot beside the building by Bubblemania with plenty of space. I am looking forward to my next visit.
