I was given a gift certificate for a package called 'Renew' for my birthday last year. When I called to book the appointment a month ago I kindly asked if I could change one of the services (manicure) because I keep my nails very short and I really don't need that service. I said that I would happily pay the difference and that I would love to try a facial instead. This soon became a very trying conversation because the gentleman that answered the phone was VERY inflexible, not understanding and really had poor customer service skills. I asked to speak to the owner or manager to better understand the issue, and hopefully they would understand my position better. This fellow said that the owner/manager doesn't speak to the public but that he would pass the message along to them and they would get back to me in 2 days. Well, I never heard back and I soon found out from a friend of a friend who used to work there that the fellow I spoke with is indeed the owner of the spa. Very weird!
I had my pedicure and manicure today and the girl that provided these services was very nice and did a great job. I wouldn't go back because it truly wasn't as relaxing as other spa experiences (Riverside Spa), there was only 1 shower working, steam-room was out of service, there were no hair styling products or body lotion and strangely the entrance door to the ladies change room, when opened, looked directly into the shower stall. Also, during the week you will be stuck paying meter parking.
