  • My husband and I ate here last Thursday and I was excited to try Sullivan's because I've heard great things about it! It started off great. Our waiter was great (I want to say his name was Ken but I'm not positive). Anyway, I ordered the salmon plate (super yummy) and my husband ordered the steak that was on special that night. Everything was great until a waitress brought us our food. She asked my husband to cut open the steak to make sure it was cooked to his liking (medium rare). He cut it open and looked inside but the restaurant is SO dimly lit that he couldn't see. So he was pulling out his phone and telling her that he was going to turn the flashlight on to make sure it's cooked properly. She didn't wait for him to do that and instead bolted. Our waiter came by to check up on us as my husband was checking the steak with his phone flashlight and it was literally mooing. I mean, it was basically just seared on the outside and completely raw on the inside. Moooooooing. So our waiter took it away, they put it back on the grill to get it cooked through a bit more and returned with it a few minutes later. Ok so, three things: I ate my entire meal alone cause I'd rather not eat cold salmon by the time they returned with the cooked steak. Second: they just stuck his steak back on the grill. Not a new steak. For the prices we pay there, I expect a new steak. Third: the manager came back with the cooked steak and simply apologized for the mooing steak. I expected that we'd be comped in some way. Or a free dessert. Or just anything to make up for their terrible mistake. But no. Nothing. Nothing was done to truly correct their error. We didn't have any time to speak with anyone or fight anything cause by the time dinner was over, we had to be at a ballet in 15 minutes. It was a little disappointing that at a nice restaurant, they can't comp a meal when they made a big mistake and caused us to not even be able to eat our dinner together. That's a big deal to us because we NEVER get to go on dates (parents of two babies). And we only get to eat dinner together twice a week. So we'd like to eat together when we get to go on a raaaaare date. Anyway, needless to say, it was a disappointment. Food was good but the lack of action on their part was a little crappy. Not sure if we'll ever return.
