| - We are planting a garden and hubby noticed the garden centre and stopped off on his way home last night.
Today, we were returning some veggie plants (hubby made a few errors) and purchasing further plants for our garden, mom and mom-inlaw. Upon arriving we explained the above, so it would be a simply exchange. As I proceeded to the plant area to begin the selections.
The owner's sister, began to question my hubby about 1 or 2 of the tiny plants. It appeared there was some broken leaves. He explained all the plant were purchased last night and packed by their staff in 2 boxes, which were left in the car overnight. Still in our car!
Good grief, then she begins...on and on and on about some broken leaves on 2 tiny plants (4 tiny plants are $1.64!). Then she began with "l could not offer a full refund. I just don't know how I could do a full refund...on...and....on. I'm like whatever .
I choosing plants...yet, she is still continuing.
Hubby popped out to the car to obtain our list of plants. Still she is going on and on. She then begins the questioning again, only more in-depth. How did these tiny leaves break? Why did they break? When did they break? where did they break?
Geez, Columbo didn't ask so many questions .
I explained again and attempted to get on to my tasks.
Nope, she is still going on and on and on. I'm like, whatever (really, we are talking 50 cents!) whatever!
Hubby returns, she stops his again! With the questions...he explains as above, again!
But oh no, she just won't let it go!!
She tacks, with the "oh, I couldn't offer a full refund."
She need to figure this out and commences with the interrogation AGAIN!!! GEEZ IT'S A 50 CENT PLANT!!!
At this point l turned and watched in disbelief as she continued(like a dog with a bone) to interrogating my hubby, over and over.
I finally spoke up! It is clear, all the plants purchased were packed by your staff and the entire order is still in our car. We removed the plants purchased in error. That is all the information there is. I'm uncertain as to why this had become such an issue with you, you do realize the said value is approximately 50 cents? 50 cents that both hubby and I stated numerous times "Whatever, Fine, no probs"
Good grief, she would not stop!!!!
Finally, l blantanty asked why she is choosing to go on and on, questions after same questions over less than 50 cents worth of plants?
SERIOUSLY WHY????
Then she began "with the receipt" concern .
Where is the receipt? Do you even have the receipt? I would know what reduced refund I could offer without a receipt! I don't know what you paid or what the cost are.
...."the plants are 4 for $1.64, if you like I will bring you the exact plants for your confirmation ". Which you know since you're here in the garden centre tending cash!
Oh, no, no I couldn't even consider any return without a bill. I wouldn't know what reduction of the return could be applied without a receipt.

No, no this will not do, it's a credit card receipt! I couldn't possibly do anything with this.
This woman is like a dog with a bone over a silly 50 cent plant which we stated numerous time...WHATEVER
LET IT GO, WHO CARES.
NO, now she's insisting this could be any credit card receipt.
Then she goes off on a tangent about store receipts, credit card receipts, itemized items. BLAH BLAH BLAH
At this point I had enough (20+mins of her lamenting over 50 cents, endless questions about the hows/why over a few broken leaves and continuing harrassment over a store receipt when she had the credit card receipt!
That's it, I asked hubby to retrieve the boxes and I informed i had enough of this NONSENSE, enough of the endless questions, enough of the interrogation and utter foolishness.
ALL OVER 2 TINY PLANTS THAT WHOLESALE FOR LESS THAN 1 CENT!!!
Firmly, l informed her...THAT IS ENOUGH, THERE ARE ALL YOUR PLANTS, YOU HAVE THE CARD RECEIPT AND YOU WILL RETURN MY CASH .
I let her know in no uncertain terms, her behaviour is APPEALING, to carry on like a pathetic soulless creature over less than 50 cents is shameful!!
She returned the cash AND a copy of the itemized purchase..YES, very interesting how that happened...which shows her to be a bold face liar too
As we walked away.. in true narcissistic behaviour & personality...she attended to gaslight the situation and state, it wasnt her, it was us!
I do not even want to imagine what she is capable of doing over $5.00.
