| - 1990 called, and put this place on hold.
The place is chopped up with little spaces every where. looks like 2 maybe 3 patios, but they are completely unused and they look like they have been ignored since April. Enter into a weird space and check in, go through a little opening into a bar, and past that through another 3 foot doorway and find the dining room. The place is very busy so I was shocked to find the smallest restaurant bathroom ever. In todays world of new sleek uncluttered shinny new restaurants The Tee Pee is just the opposite. Stuff everywhere!!!
I didn't stop in because I wanted a $7 octopus taco and $15 dollar blue margarita I came because I craved good ole Mexican food, you know the kind with shredded lettuce and grated cheese on everything, and the plates so hot you cant touch them and you get warned twice!!!!
BINGO!!! This place is all that and more. It's just like I remember and I haven't been here in 2 decades.
We sat at the bar because on a Friday night there was a wait, and the bar was almost empty, and we like the bar.
Service was swift and super friendly, cold beers on tap, and best of all full service. did I mention the bartender was super friendly, she was!!!.
Dinners arrive and just what I was craving, I had the Tee Pee Special, beef taco, bean tostada and cheese & onion enchilada with rice and beans, It came with plenty of shredded lettuce and grated cheese, and I was warned twice the plate was too hot to touch. My Brothers Fajitas looked a little lack luster, not sizzling and on a regular plate but my brother really liked them. We both liked the ultra fresh chips and salsa, Cold beers and great tea, and for $40.00 plus tip we left completely stuffed and satisfied.
On our way out there was still a wait, friendly thank you's and good bye's and a basket of those starlight mints! There are not enough places like this, but I am sure this place will be around for some time to come.
Old School Mexican food done right, give them a try!
