| - Before I booked this room, I called to ask some questions. I was put on hold, and eventually they hung up on me. Not a great first impression, but the location worked for us. We almost passed the hotel the first time, because their sign is so small and there is no sign on the building itself.
When we checked in, the clerk told me that the Internet is bad on the higher floors, so I asked for a ground floor room. Nevertheless, we experienced Internet problems right from the start. The problems were not enough to ruin our stay, because we have good Internet access through our phones. But if you need to use the Internet for anything other than occasionally checking your email, this probably is not the place for you. Even the front desk had Internet problems during our stay, so I am sure that they hope to fix these problems (maybe they need to switch to a different ISP).
Our room was very well equipped and comfortable. The in-room coffee maker seemed a little weird (and possibly something was missing) but we didn't use it (we did take advantage of the hot water in the lobby for tea, and coffee is also always available there).
Both an indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi were available, which was a nice option. The indoor pool was good, but the air was not quite warm enough.
The breakfast was great, with hot egg and meat choices available (with different egg and meat options on different days). Some kind of potato option would have been nice (such as hash browns), but I was very satisfied with the breakfasts on both days. The waffle maker creates four small waffles, so one waffle-making session could benefit several people (but I ate them all myself).
We asked for a late checkout, but our room card stopped working during the last hour or two, making checkout a frustrating experience. When I told the clerk about the problem with my card, she didn't seem surprised and offered no apology. I assume that our cards were deactivated at the normal checkout time even though we had been granted a late checkout.
None of the problems we experienced would prevent me from returning to this hotel, but there is definitely some room for improvement.
