I've drank at this establishment late at night but never ordered any food. My friend was in town from Seattle and on his last day we decided to do lunch. I figured this was a perfect opportunity to check out the culinary offerings of August Henry's. The menu was available online and looked pretty decent.
We arrived and were seated and waited on by the bartender which is a pretty common practice in mid afternoon at smaller, low volume establishments. My friend ordered an "Italian Burger" and I ordered a double cheeseburger, cooked mid rare. My friend enjoyed his burger, however, he isn't fussy about how a burger is cooked. My burger was not cooked to the temp that I requested. It was well done and dried out. After about 10 minutes and three bites I had to flag the bartender over as she never did a check back after she delivered our food. I sent it back and received a new burger that was juicier but the juices were clear, not red. Obviously, not mid rare. The two patties were 8 oz a piece. Quite a lot of meat however by the time I got half way through the new burger, it had dried out as well. I figured that if they couldn't get it correct in two attempts that a third was a waste of time.
Overall, I found the experience to be pretty underwhelming. It's a shame because the dinner menu looks pretty robust, however, there is no way I am taking a chance on ordering a $25 piece of Ahi Tuna or a $30 filet when twice they failed to properly cook a freakin' cheeseburger to temp. The bartender who waited on us was polite but not very personable and slightly inattentive. I took half the burger home in a box but later in the evening I just ended up throwing it away.
I honestly can't recommend this place.
