| - Edit: After my review the tech supervisor called and assured me that this situation would be rectified and information would be given to help correct anything like this in the future. I am happy that they are caring and did this. Hopefully this was a situation that will not happen again.
Review: Awful! I don't know what else to say. Horrid communication among the staff (relaying information to each other), lack of bedside manner, behind in schedule, and NO business working with babies.
I wish my insurance would have allowed my baby to get this done in the pediatrician's office where they know what to do. If you are in my same predicament and have a child that needs to go here, and they are a baby or infant please do your research before you go!
My infant had a stomach ultrasound here. She had to fast for 3 hours and is exclusively breastfed so isn't used to going more than 2, 21/2 hours.
My appointment was at 2 and I called to make sure she could get in right away, they agreed. I got her there and although it had been 4 hours she was agreeable.
We got back to the room around 3:00 pm. The front desk people didn't assure me that any communication about my phone call was received.
Finally the ultrasound tech had no idea how to accommodate a 5 week old. She didn't say I could hold her, although when I asked she just said it would be easier if I didn't.
It was horrifying. The room was freezing, the one dim light flickered like a strobe. After 5 minutes of being calm my baby cried uncontrollably.
There was no communication about how to give an ultrasound to a baby. I didn't feel like the tech had any direction on what she was doing and lacked the tools needed to work with a smaller patient.
As I was leaving I asked if I could go to a room to clean my baby off and take care of her. She had the gel all over, no consideration to wipe her off? The tech said to use the room I was in. Which I thought was a bad idea as they would probably need it soon.
What do you know, less than 3 minutes later another lady came in as I was nursing and said, "Can you do that somewhere ELSE?!". She didn't knock, and I felt violated. As soon as she left, my starving and terrified baby and I rushed out...
Please be careful going here.
