This is not my first time having lunch/dinner here. Food is great, decor is beautiful. However the inconsistency in service is not pleasant.
Tonight I asked for fresh garlic and immediately the server assumed that I will put garlic in the broth and told me that I can't do that. The answer was per policy, I can't put garlic in the broth as some customers will complain of the strong garlicky smell. The funny thing that when she delivered my sauces and garlic, she reinsured me again that I can put garlic in my sauce, but not in my broth with a very bossy voice . I felt like she really wanted to stand next to me to make sure I do what she told me. She is the only server in this place has ever told me that I can't put fresh garlic in my broth. I had lunch here many times and it was ok with other servers. I flipped the menu up side down, front and back and I couldn't find the policy that she mentioned. So was it really the policy or was the server the one couldn't take the garlicky smell?!?
There are many other restaurants serving dishes that have stronger smell than garlic. If this is true that restaurant doesn't allow to put garlic in the broth, might as well don't serve garlic!
