This is the newest Starbucks in Oakland - I visited the location for the first time this evening. It is gorgeous on the inside as everything is brand new. The location has plenty of tables or various shapes and sizes for meet ups, relaxation and studying.
I wish that I had the Barista's name that had waited on me this evening-the location closes at 7pm and during the summer months does not seem to be very busy, as the University is not in session. I arrived around 6pm and asked for my usual-a Grande Pike Place, no cream or sugar. The Barista apologized as they had no brew left-while there was only an hour left for the location to be open, he ended up brewing a fresh pot just for me! How nice-I have to thank him for helping me to get through my evening class today.
My only complaint is that for a passer by in a vehicle, the location is a little bit hard to get in and out of - I ended up parking across the street on 5th avenue and running through traffic to get into the coffee shop. As a student, however, this is a prime location as you can stop on your way to and from class on the east side of campus.
