Returned after many years and those crab cakes were just as good as I remembered. Crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and beef carpaccio were our starters. One crab cake per two people was the perfect amount. That fresh lump crab meat and very little filler is what sets these babies above all other crab cakes. The sauce with a touch of heat doesn't hurt either. Try dipping your bread in it.
My husband and I shared a wedge salad which they were able to split in the kitchen. I was not a fan of the bleu cheese dressing, which had a slightly sweet flavor. Our friends shared the burrata and heirloom tomato salad. We didn't get a bite so I think they loved it!
For our main courses, we shared a dry aged ribeye and a bone in tomahawk cooked rare plus. These steaks were incredible. Melt in your mouth and so flavorful. Sides were Brussels sprouts and chateau potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were good. The chateau potatoes were way too heavy on the truffle butter for my taste. Full disclosure, I'm not generally a fan of truffle anything but chocolate. Just too rich for my tastebuds.
After all that and several bottles of Nickel & Nickel, we still managed to split a butter cake. This dessert was the right amount of sugary crust and paired perfectly with Butter Pecan ice cream. Lest I forget, Zane & Lauren provided top notch service. All things considered, we had a great meal and you just can't beat the cigar club ambiance of this place.
