Let me just start by saying that I absolutely loved this place! I have lived in Vegas for almost four years now and I pass the Springs Preserve during my daily commute and last week Sunday, my family and I finally decided to check it out! I could've spent all day there! It's definitely fun for all ages, tourists and locals alike. The Springs Preserve offers discounts for locals, seniors, students, and both active and retired military! Yay! The staff members at the ticket office were very informative and told us about all the things there are to do here. Make sure you grab a map! The place is huge and the map includes all of the different exhibits and displays as well as shows offered!
My family really enjoyed the Butterfly Habitat! Although admission to the Butterfly Habitat is not included with your general admission ticket, it is so worth the extra $3! In order to get to the Butterfly Habitat, you have to take a short walk through the beautiful botanical gardens. I wish I had more time to explore the gardens and the trails! The Butterfly Habitat was unlike anything I've experienced before... Just amazing! We also enjoyed the Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibit in the Origen Museum! There were too many interesting things in there. I mean, who wouldn't want to see a shrunken head?
I also recommend checking out the Nevada State Museum. It's a nice place to cool off after spending the day outside at the Springs Preserve. The nerd in me loved this museum! It's nice to know a little bit of history about the place you call home!
We will definitely be returning soon and will most likely be purchasing a membership! If you save your general admission ticket and decide to purchase a membership later, your general admission will go towards the cost of the membership! Great deal!
