I had one goal when I went into this bakery and it was to try a cupcake. And the cupcake of choice: red velvet!
First, walking into the bakery I was greeted with a punch in the face of baked good; their aroma to be exact. Such a lovely way to enter a building.
As I mentioned, I chose the red velvet cupcake as my maiden voyage into what will be many visits back. I was surprised, but not too horrified, that the frosting which tops the cupcake was not a cream cheese frosting but rather a buttercream. That's nothing to sneeze at but I would've expected cream cheese. Comparing this buttercream though to other places I've been, this was close to perfection.
The staff was friendly as one of the workers eagerly waited with a pair of tongs in his hand for me to decide what I was going to have. The fridge by the till which housed most of their delights was full of cakes and cupcakes among other things - you see why it was hard to decide.
The cake itself? Ridiculously moist and begged to be savoured. I've read these reviews which boast about Sweet Bliss's cinnamon buns so I may have to make another visit... just can't make this a habit of mine.
