I'm not sure if you can really consider this a nature hike when you can see the road with cars blowing by from the trail... but I was satisfied because Thunderbird Park was easy to find and there's plenty of parking. There's a variety of trails to choose from. Lots of locals with their kids here so it seems like a popular hangout for morning exercise.
The view is alright (says a person from California). I'm not complaining too much because it's a leisurely hike that didn't kill me (I'm the WORST hiker. I'd probably die if I tried Camelback). But the most exciting part is probably the giant American flag at the top. So if you want your insta, go for that.
