  • It's no fancy place, but it is inexpensive, convenient and clean! I stayed here just over the weekend with my dragon boat team for a festival and we had a blast. The front desk was nice enough to put most of our team (20+ people) on the same floor. It made meetings and morning calls much easier. I loved my room. We got a double with an office in it's own room, almost as if it was meant to be a bedroom in itself with a couch in it. I found out later that the couch was in fact a sofa bed. So sweet! Everyone got their own bed! Surprise surprise, there was an extra TV in the 'office'. As the previous post had mentioned, the internet in your room is not wireless, but you can easily plug in travel sized wireless router and you are set. There aren't much utensils for you in the kitchenette, so just expect your basic, fork, spoon, butter knife. There is a water kettle and coffee maker. Full size fridge and freezer. It's clean! Breakfast, they have a pretty good selection, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, sausage, eggs, juice, tea, coffee... I had to leave the hotel before they brought out everything for breakfast, so I didn't take advantage of it. There is always next time. One thing I did find irritating was parking. I missed the turn into the side street to leave my car for valet. I had to loop around through street closures and construction. Thank goodness for valet. I don't know where my car would be without them. Location of the hotel is pretty good. You are about a block away from Chinatown. Couple of blocks from Old Montreal. Two blocks away from the subway station. You can even walk to the clubs along Saint Lauren... if you get tired afterwards, you can cab back for less than $10 with tips. There is an IGA very close by, in the Desjardin Complex. So if you don't feel like eating out, you can always pick up food and wine at the grocery, I think it was only 4 blocks away. Front desk was very nice. English friendly! Who ever said people from Montreal were rude? I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town, especially with my family or in a group. 3.5 stars.
