I've only been to Nadage twice. When I mentioned that I purchased macaroons from Nadage the first time, a good friend of mine crinkled her nose and said she didn't like the cookies there because they were mushy. The boyfriend and I bought a dozen and they weren't mushy at all. Very delicate and yummy, the filling to cookie ratio was good. The 2nd time I went there, I purchased 1/2 dozen cookies and this time I understood where my friend was coming from. The macaroons were all filling no cookie. The cookies were a little bit too hollow, and the amount of filling in a few of them was just as thick as the two shells combined. It's still very yummy, the filling flavors are so good, but the texture and flavor is not balanced well with the cookie shells. No crunchy shell or soft moist and chewy inside ... just filling. Mush.
The availability of macaroons in the areas that I frequent is close to none, so if I am ever in the neighborhood again I would still likely go back for more macaroons. Probably just a hit or miss depending on who's baking or filling these bad boys but I do want to stress that if I'm paying that much for a cookie it sucks to have to deal with the inconsistency. The macaroons are also quite small compared to other macaroons available in the city and their selection isn't too adventurous but I admit that even with the ones available, I had a hard time picking which ones I wanted.
