  • One of my absolute favorites in Madison! The atmosphere in here is super unique, and you can feel like you're in different spaces depending on where you sit. Very neat way to utilize a historic space. They have an expansive selection behind the bar and I totally dig the (very large) chalk board beer list! A wide variety of beer for all tastes. I've always loved the food here. The turkey sandwich is second-to-none, and it takes so much will power to try something different on the menu because it is just that good (although whenever I try something new I'm never disappointed!). They often have dessert cheesecakes and those too are second-to-none. In the nice weather months the patio outdoors is a great place to enjoy a cold beverage. Last time my dad was in town he said he was in the mood for a turkey sandwich (GO FIGURE!) so we drove well across Madison to go here - he said it was well worth it. The Free House is also totally wheelchair accessible (to include bathroom!). Highly recommend to all!
