As a general rule of thumb, all my reviews of the lower cost grocery chains will be a two star review. For those that don't know what I am referring to, Nofrills=loblaws, food basics=metro, price chopper/fresh=sobeys. This location and others all suffer from the same fundamental flaws.
Never have enough stock for sales
Rarely have enough staff to put stock on the shelves
Line ups are insane
Selection is limited to what the customers in the area buy most
Produce is a lot older and not fresh
Produce is never displayed properly(fresh on top, older on the bottom and getting older by the day, sometimes spoiling at the bottom.)
They leave dairy/eggs out in the isles for a long time waiting for staff to put away
Frozen items have sometimes partially thawed before staff put them into freezers, seen this with the juices.
These issues happen at ALL lower cost grocery chains, sometimes the old adage is true. You get what you pay for. Although I like to think that the managers of these places should be doing a better job of taking care of their stores. The sales at some of these stores are insanely high but you would think they make nothing by the looks of the store and how short staffed they are. Then again it could be a ploy to tricks customers into shopping at their more expensive stores. Make the cheaper store experience as crappy as possible in order to convince people to shop at the more expensive sister stores.
