  • Hexx was next door to our hotel and we decided to try breakfast here one morning we were up early. As soon as we walked up to the restaurant, I could smell a strong paint/varnish smell. I noticed they were getting ready to open Beer Park on the roof and it looked like someone was working on the area. We got a seat inside and I hoped the varnish smell would subside. I ordered orange juice because I saw it was served in a carafe and assumed it was fresh squeezed. I should have asked because it tasted like it came from a carton at the grocery store. Unfortunately, the varnish smell started making me queasy and we left before eating. We tried Hexx again another evening for dinner, and this time the varnish smell was gone. We were seated at a table farthest from the windows. It still had a great view of the Bellagio fountains just across the street. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. It's served in a mini skillet with tortilla chips and pita bread. It was creamy and did not disappoint. It was HOT though, and I burned my tongue - so maybe let it cool a minute before you dig in. We also ordered one of their signature Hexx potions on the special drink menu that appeared to have smoke or mist coming from it. We had to ask about it though, because $36 seemed pretty steep. We learned it was actually a pitcher and not a single serving (you cannot tell from the photo) and we ordered the purple haze pitcher, which was a berry flavored drink. The server brought out the pitcher and another cup and then proceeded to pour the contents of the cup into the pitcher and it immediately began smoking. We figured there must be dry ice in the bottom. We were given two straws and told to go to town! The drink fizzed for a long time, at least 10 minutes! It was tasty but not super strong, alcohol-wise. My bf wasn't very hungry, so I was the only one who ended up ordering an entree. I chose the Pappardelle, which was described as a pasta with wild mushroom, baby spinach, portabella cream and parmesan. It was an average pasta dish and not very flavorful. As a lover of all things pasta, I ate only about half and did not take the rest home. I wouldn't order it again, either. We skipped dessert and left once we'd finished our drink. Service was satisfactory and nothing to complain about. We did not get any chocolate with our check as another reviewer mentioned! Tip: If you have a Total Rewards card, they give 20% off the check!
