I've been looking forward to vegas for the buffets and I guess I didn't hit the jackpot with this one for brunch. It was a really long walk inside the hotel to get to the wicked spoon. It's like a maze once you get upstairs. I completely agree with James T's review about the hype not living up to itself and the selection not being super big or having variety. The orange juice was so good and sweet that I kept getting refills like crazy. It was like drinking sugar water. I stuck mostly to the left side of the buffet as the far right side was more asian inspired and I wasn't feeling asian for brunch. I liked the lemon poppy seed pancakes, kale salad, french toast, figs with cheese, risotto, sriracha wings, chicken apple sausage, and mac & cheese. Everything else I had was just standard and ok. Sitting under those heating lamps really dries out the food and you can tell when walking by. I wish I got a made to order omelette but the line was so long, it wasn't worth the wait for me. The roasted bone marrow tasted a little off. It was very bold in its flavor. I definitely didn't try any of the sushi or sushi rolls. The sushi rolls had so much rice in it and low quality sushi that I didn't bother wasting my stomach space.
I wasn't a fan of the dessert selections either but enjoyed the various gelato flavors. I wouldn't say it tasted like gelato though, more like cheap gelato. Out of all the desserts, I enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries and bread pudding (although a little dry but add some vanilla gelato on there and yum!)
Not sure if I'll come here again for brunch. Maybe I'll give it another try for dinner but that's after I check out other noteworthy buffets.
