Why would a school that claim they're open and thirsty for black prospects with texture hair treat them so badly? It's been my experience with them that a simple request to base my entire scalp before applying a relaxer is apparently "no,no" for them. I was told that their product has a built in protective base and basing isn't required. I have experienced their relaxed without entirely basing my scalp...yes, I have been burned with their relaxer. I have very sensitive scalp and burn very easy and have been met with so much resistance from their so call "texture specialists" who just happen to be black themselves...can't you as black women identify with the challenges that come with having a sensitive scalp?? Think outside your little boxes...it's just a precautionary step that most schools and professionals practice...and when this is done, I have no problems, my scalp does not burn. I have encountered smug and uppity so called professionals over such a simple and basic request. I've been coming to this school off and on now for a few years...the products and prices are great, but the so called professionals lack professionalism!!! This school needs to strive to make this a better experience for anyone who has hair challenges...I found very little empathy here!
