Our experience here was that of an average steak house, comparable to Ruth's Chris. Except Ruth's Chris has better calamari. Sorry.
Maybe it was the high expectations from the raving reviews, maybe people who reviewed have been to the Outback too many times, I don't know, but Vic & Anthony's, while good, didn't stand out at all.
Like a good steakhouse, they're going to give you a black napkin if you have black pants on. They're going to put it on your lap for you. They're going to expect you to use your forks and knives in the right order and take them away as the courses progress. The steaks are going to be about $30-$50 bucks. You're going to order sides to share. Your steak is going to be served on a hot plate and they're going to tell you to cut it in half to make sure it's served correctly. It's going to taste well seasoned and melt in your mouth.
This.... I can get anywhere. So is there anything else that makes me want to come here rather than any other steak house? No.
The only note of originality here is that the wedge salad is huge (too big, really). The Prime Ribeye is also A LOT OF MEAT.
The Au Gratin potatoes are covered in a Velveeta-like cheese that sticks to your mouth and sits like a rock in your stomach. Not in a good way.
They have a good wine list and I recommend the Cab/Syrah wine by the glass if you're leaning in that direction.
Still giving it four stars because there's nothing to really complain about... the food was good, the service was boring but standard... there's just nothing to rave about. For $150 bucks we were pretty well fed, but I'd rather have spent it somewhere else.
