| - Of all the awesome restaurants crowding the FMP area, Korean Food Express is one of my favourites. They offer many staple korean dishes including Pork Bone Soup, Cold Buckwheat Noodles, Spicy Rice Cakes, Bibimbap, Kimbap, Soon Tofu Soup, Kimchi Pork Stew, Bulgogi on rice, Seafood Pancake, etc, etc. Each dish comes with three side dishes on a small plate: 2 types of kimchi, and japchae (glass noodles). Unlimited genmaicha brown rice green tea is also served upon request.
The Kimbap portions are great. It's the size of two giant sushi rolls and is filled with lots of vegetables. I seriously can't imagine how one person can finish the Kimbap... especially since it's the cheapest item on the menu (~$6). It is however, a little bland (as most kimbap are) compared to the other dishes, so if you are going for a lighter option, go with this.
The Pork bone soup? Didn't live up to the perfection I imagined it to be based on prior reviews. Nonetheless, it does deliver for its price. Super flavourful and three large chunks of pork. Delicious.
Their bibimbap is pretty good too. It's a lot cheaper than most stores, which I appreciate. They give you a decent amount of toppings (includes sunny side up egg and bulgogi). The bulgogi was kind of dry though, so I would suggest asking for extra veggies in place of bulgogi if you don't mind meatless food.
The Zhajamyeon wasn't stellar. Maybe it's because I've had the instant noodle version of it so many times. The texture of the noodles just doesn't compare to the quality of the rice cakes and rice dishes they offer.
Side dishes - good (love their kimchi). The tea - traditional and great. A good bang for your buck indeed.
