| - Maison Publique is ranked #21 of Canada's 100 Best Restaurants for 2016. It's a sneaky, inconspicuous restaurant. Their website and the restaurant's atmosphere bely a normal, neighborhood, corner gastropubs. But, their menu and chefs are anything but.
They create a new menu everyday based on the ingredients they can source from local farms and friends; the sockeye salmon came from their fisherman friends in B.C. All four of us decided on the eight course tasting menu. It included salmon carpaccio, smoked rabbit, heirloom tomato and blue cheese salad, home-smoked meats, buffalo pantacotta, and a beautiful spread of desserts. The wine list is all local, there's a full bar, and a wide beer selection.
Easily our best meal so far on our road trip between Saratoga Springs, Kingston and Montreal.
