| - I could have sworn I posted a review, but I guess not...
We were discussing getting a new bed for a long time and finally broke down and went shopping. We intended to just look and price shop, but ended up purchasing that night.
Sim is very friendly and attentive. He knows his products and does whatever he can to answer all your questions.
We checked out a few bed frames (had already ordered a mattress elsewhere) and landed on our choice. The check-out process was nice and easy and now all we had to do was wait for delivery.
Delivery went off without a hitch. The guys came by and unloaded everything, hauling everything upstairs to the master bedroom on a hot day. Thanks for doing all the heavy lifting, guys!
I cleared out our room and unpacked all the boxes. I wasn't reading all the labels on the boxes to see what came in each, I was just following the assembly instructions. I got most of everything put together and then I noticed some issues.
1) there was a sizeable chip in one of the pieces
2) one of the drawer knobs didn't fit and was loose
3) the set was not complete. I was missing #'s 5 - 10 on the list of parts.
Yes, that's right... incomplete bed set. It is a platform frame - with no platforms. I understand that this wasn't anything that MyFit had control over, so no stars taken away for that.
I called the next day (it was after hours when I made this discovery) and was told Sim would be in at 3pm and give me a call. I got a call closer to 7pm. Honestly, if someone tells you what you sold them isn't what they got - that would have been my number 1 call that day. We talked everything over, I texted him pictures of what I was talking about and he said he'd take care of it and let me know.
I waited for him to let me know. And waited. Then I sent a text and asked for an update. Parts ordered, should be shipped soon. No anticipated timeframe or date. So I waited a few more days. I texted again to get an update. Was told, "your parts came in today (Saturday), but we can't deliver until Monday or Tuesday". We were already near that part of town with our truck, so I asked if we could just pick the parts up. We had NO BED during this whole process - and though we do have a guest bed, it's too small and was very inconvenient for us to spend 3 weeks on. Yes, that's right. This whole thing took about 3 weeks. So - we picked up the parts, or at least thought we were going to - thankfully my husband noticed the box said Eastern King on it... we own and ordered California King. This was something that was confirmed multiple times before the parts were reordered. This is something MyFit definitely had control over. So... we waited for new parts... again. Eventually the new parts came in and we drove out again to pick everything up.
*sigh* One of the pieces was the wrong part. Now, this could have been MY mistake, and I will chalk it up to it possibly being so. We also got the additional items (#5-10 mentioned above) but there were STILL pieces missing. Thankfully I still had the old set and the missing parts in the new set were actually pieces that could be used for both - so I took them out of the old set and used them to finish putting the bed together and FINALLY getting to sleep in my own room again.
Now, with all the missing parts, I get that the manufacturer didn't include everything in the box.
The lack of communication, though... and having to always check in for updates... that was a little off-putting.
Would I go back to support this business owner and his store? Sure. Overall it was a good experience and aside from the communication not being what I would have expected, Sim did everything to make things right for us. I still would, and have, referred others to his business to continue to support him - I just can't give 5 stars based on my experience.
