I mistakenly assumed Good Food on Montford would have "good" food as in "great"! But in actuality, "good" meant just "okay."
For dinner I shared:
-Sauteed Mushrooms: 3.75/5 Fried sliced garlic gave it a lot of flavor but was too oily. Presentation for this would be 0 stars.
-Poached Farm Egg: 2/5 What the eff is this dish supposed to be? It was a hot mess. Putting poached egg in a dish does NOT make it fancy. It looked like they just mashed up a bunch of leftover ingredients on a plate. No bueno.
-Garganelli: 3/5 Meh pasta. We barely even touched this. Nothing particularly special.
-Grilled Shrimp: 4/5 Probably one of the better dishes of the night because it wasn't trying too hard. The tator tots and shrimp were an odd combo though.
-Fitto Misto: 4/5 Small oysters, but at least they were crispy fried and not soggy. Cauliflower oily AF.
-Brownie: 3/5 Will give you cavities it's so sweet. This was also left primarily untouched.
Service was good, but in terms of food, this place is over hyped. The food combinations and presentation were odd, and veered on the side of trying too hard. Stick to your name and just make plain, old good food.
I probably wouldn't come back again.
