I've been going for close to 40 years. It wasn't legal to be naked on the beach so we usually had someone as a look out taking turns to watch for cops. There were arrests sometimes worse and there were also cops that were ok.
The beach was at the south end past we're most people hang out naked and there were only patches of sand between beach grass. It was a little known place that was mostly frequented by gay men and some lesbians. When your naked the world changes attitudes change what once was considered lude transforms. into communing with the sun and having loads of fun.
I gave it four stars as of late most people aren't naked and many walk the length of the beach either making childish comments or some just pretend not to notice when walking by. We are naked have a good look and get on with chatting there's nothing wrong with checking a person out We do it when people have clothes on, this is no different. There's every body type and please refrain from making rude comments about body shapes and sizes if you can't, maybe you're on the wrong beach!
Over the last several years, I've noticed a greater cross section of people going naked most huddling to one end of the beach, maybe this year I'll start hanging out in the middle to take back the beach, that we fought for, this didn't just happen over night. Men were arrested and humiliated and we fought so that people could now legally be naked. I find that some tourist at first shocked are soon enjoying the benefits of hanlons with their children running around while mom and dad look on from their naked repose on a towel.
One thing that sets me off are that some self entitled fools bring their dogs to the beach. All Public beaches in Toronto do NOT allow dogs and if you took a moment to think about others and consider the dangers of having a dog on a beach especially a naked one maybe you'll get it. But I suppose you have to be a person that is mindful of others. And there is a growing number of mindless people it seems.
I try to go during the week and before work lets out the beach is more relaxed and a great place to read, sleep or be social. There's also an artist that does amazing sand sculptures worth having a look at.
Looking forward to hitting the beach next month!
