I have been hearing good things about Pizza Rock so I was excited when I heard they had opened at GVR since it's close to home. We ventured over a couple hours before the 4th of July fireworks. There was a decent wait for a table which was to be expected, but the bar had two spots right away. Dining at the bar was enjoyable, seats were spaced enough that it didn't feel cramped and the bartenders gave us great service.
I had the pomegranate serrano margarita which was mostly hot and just a little sweet. If you like serious heat then this drink is for you. For an appetizer my husband I shared the fried tomato caprese salad. The idea of frying the tomatoes made it a little unique and the cheese tasted really fresh. All of the flavors went well together. For our meal we shared the St. Anthony pizza which was both unique and delicious. It had large slices of sausage, the right amount of egg and the perfect amount of ricotta. We loved the combination. I didn't even have room for dessert which may be a first.
