| - My husband's Mac hard drive died. brought it in to Apple at the arrowhead mall and they recommended bringing it over to Macmedia to see if they could recover his data.
Located in an obscure empty strip mall, Macmedia is huge. Lots of fun gadgets! Not crowded, but a good stream of people coming in....so much nicer than Apple, having to wait and wait and wait. And they are an Apple certified vendor.
Our first encounter when we walked in with a tech was kind of displeasing. We kept telling him what the problem was and what we needed to do, but he kept trying to sell us something unrelated and kept asking the same questions over and over.
Finally, CJ behind the counter, who really IS a tech, helped us out. Super knowledgeable and nice. Data recovery was quoted at $95, but not charged to our credit card unless they were actually successful. Needless to say, they weren't successful, but they did replace the hard drive covered under AppleCare in 48 hours, 4 days less than quoted at the Apple store.
Quick, convenient, professional and reliable. Will be back.
