| - I was really excited for the thrill of this zip line! I got what I thought was a great deal for the tickets online for my girlfriend and I to go and have it as part of a fun date night on the strip!
The Rio itself is a bit dated on the inside, but not a big issue as I didn't come for the ambiance of the Rio's decor, I came to get an adrenaline rush on the Zip Line! The check-in area of the VooDoo zip-line did make we question what I had just purchased tickets to, as it was very run-down and "grungy". Entering up through the VooDoo Rooftop lounge was also....interesting, as it looks like it was stuck in time from being the happening club of 1997! The inside lounge was EMPTY and honestly uncomfortable to walk through as it felt like we were in a fish bowl with of the staff at the empty bar and at the entry staring at us.
When we got outside, the view of the strip is amazing, but the DJ (a guy with his laptop turntable, 2 speakers, and a $50 disco light bought from a party store) and the unused "tables" fit the grungy theme of the operation. It was also a bit unorganized as far as understanding where and when we would be riding the zip line, as there were a lot of people on the roof top who were ahead of us, but there is no physical queue anywhere.
When it came to the ride itself, it was exhilarating and a lot of fun! Perhaps a little quicker of an experience than I thought it would be, but still a great time. The worst part was the 30 minute wait on the rooftop and the overall need for a fresh coat of paint to most of the areas we were in. Everything just feels old, dated and ratty.
