| - I never appreciate people who use a Groupon right at the expiration date and expect great service at a fraction of true cost. These are the same people who come into the grocery store at closing and expect the meat department to be open, the people in line ahead of you who forget their prescription at the pharmacy and expect the intern to "deal with it", the people who scream when their salad has raisins instead of craisins.
In short, these people want impeccable service at a price point lower than Supercuts.
I have been waxed in 3 states and 4 different cities. I have been to upscale and working class salons. I've had my lip swollen an bruised by waxers before. But I can say without hesitation that Ron is at the top of his profession.
Yes, the shop is small. The floors are worn. But it's clean and well-kept. If I wanted to pay $50 for an eyebrow wax, I would go to a ridiculous medi-spa in Shadyside. But I value affordability, competence, and quick service. I don't need to be pampered, I just need my hair (but not all of it) gone, quickly and painlessly. And that's what Ron's good at.
He makes minimal small talk, he always hands a mirror over and says "I'll be taking this off - okay?" to ensure there are no misunderstandings.
If you're looking for a therapy session, go elsewhere. Or better yet, take a long walk off a short pier.
But if you value precision and competence on your grooming, this is your mecca.
