| - Now that my car buying process has been completely finished and I've made my first payment I feel like I can write my review. First of all I wish I had checked in when I first showed up, there is a $500 off coupon situation going on.
When I first arrived I was on the new car side. The girl at the counter asked if I needed help and which I did, so she called for a salesman to come assist me. We waited for about 10 minutes and no one showed up. I was a bit peeved by that so we walked out and headed over to the used side to look around. We were aimlessly wandering around look at some cars and still no one would help us, (the more I write the more I feel like downgrading my stars). Finally a salesman named Ronnie who was moving a vehicle stopped and asked if we had been helped. Once he realized we hadn't he said he'd be right back.
Ronnie is a good sort, he's a salesman though and they work on a numbers game especially when dealing with used cars. They other sales people couldn't have known, but my car had just died and I was desperately trying to get everything sorted out before going back to work on Tuesday (it was labor day weekend). Ronnie wasn't too pushy and he wasn't too smoozy, I could tell that he would as quickly drop me as help depending on if he thought I would buy or not buy. I was at a desk collaborating with a family member and he said he'd give us some time to talk, so he moved on to helping someone else. I have to say I was a bit impressed as he sold a car to me and the other person that night.
When I got into the finance office finally the guy was nice and joking around etc. It was closing time and they were trying to get out of there. However I never felt like I was a bother and he was a cool guy. So I drove out of there with a Honda Civic and told them I'd be back the next day to finish the paperwork (sign over the title of my other car etc.). When I came back the next day things changed. The finance guy who was nice the night before was a jerk and wanted to rush me out of there without explaining anything to me. I had come in with pre-approval financing and he wanted me to sign over to them the right to run my credit with multiple other lenders to get a better APR. I was hesitant, mostly because he was a jerk about it however I went ahead and signed. In the end he got the me the rate he quoted me so that my payment would be what I was quoted and I'm grateful for that even if he was a jerk. Ronnie was no where to be found most of the time and my car still needed to be detailed. I ended up having to leave it and come back.
No one ever let me know which financing I ended up with, and I didn't know until about a month later with Ally sent me my first bill along with my information. My tag came in on the day my temp. tag expired. I was a little panicky about it and had called Ronnie. He looked into it for me after I followed up again and I could hear the title girl on the other line. Needless to say if I was her boss I'd fire her. She wasn't very nice to Ronnie and complained that she couldn't help how long the DMV took. I'm guessing this is a normal thing, and it may have to do with her versus the DMV. Ronnie said if I got ticketed for it they'd take care of it... which was a nice gesture.
So honestly it wasn't a horrible experience but it wasn't a great one either, a bit of a mixed bag. I rather got the feeling I was a number and not a person by the end of the ordeal. Which in the conditions car salesman work in I'm not surprised. Ronnie was better than anyone else at that dealership so I give him a lot of credit. I got a decent price on my car, they got me a lower interest rate than I came in with, and even though it took some prodding I finally got everything settled a month after purchasing the car. Would I recommend them? I guess so, honestly I've never found a dealer ship that was awesome!!
